CbGBs The Movie

What the hell is nothing sacred.  They're in process of making a film about the legendary NY club CBGB's.

I cant for the life of me picture who could possibly portray the legends who graced that place (including Iman and I) but I think this is going to be a straight to DVD show.  The film , tentatively titled CBGB, that will cover the years 1974-76 when the Bowery club became a haven for the Ramones, Talking Heads, Television, and a boatload of lesser knowns.

To be produced by the late owner Hilly Kristals daughter and about five others.  Why this production requires so many producers is somewhat odd.  Then again this club becoming a John Varvatos boutique is even odder.

Hilly wanted it to be bluegrass club, luckily that never came to fruition

It was an old-fashioned salon in an awful part of New York where people could fail while they worked to find their voice," producer Jody Savin told Bllboard.com. "He provided a voice to the disenfranchised. It's a heroic and flawed story."

Sure makes the bacteria belt seem so much more haute.  I'll be interested to see the casting for this one- but so help me if I see Courtney Love on the list I'm gonna picket.  Filming should begin in the fall.
