So check out this picture. Strummers pic in NYC is so much more famous that when I found this I got so stoked. How adorable this one is. Then the challenge became to find a bit to write about good ol' Mick. Finding something amazing wasn't difficult at all.
Checking out the site for his band Carbon/Silicon there was this fantastic ditty for New Years Day. Micks voice is so innocent and vulnerable. I mean since 'Stay Free" he's always had that sort of little boy lost tone. This song proves that at 55 years old Mick can still sound like a little boy.
I am upset with myself for not following Mick more closely. Love BAD, love his work with Gorillaz, and really realy love this. As a matter of fact Carbon/Silicon could potentially be my new favorite band of the moment.
The band members are outrageous,
Mick Jones of course but Tony James of Gen X and Sique Sigue Sputnik, and Jessie Wood and Dominc Greensmith of The Black Swans. Insane. Why are we not all over this band? Im off to discover more, this is truly exciting stuff.
