California Is All About The Beach by Alyson Camus

California is all about beach, surf and music, you know the Beach Boys and all this surf music,… what a perfect combination! Huntington beach will host the 2010 US Open for Surfing on August 2-7 with some interesting free concerts this year:
On Tuesday, August 3rd, The Soft Pack opens for Cold War Kids, on Wednesday, August 4th, it’s Iration opening for Bedouin Soundclash, on Thursday, August 5th Timmy Curran opens for Switchfoot, on Friday, August 6th Street Drum Corps opens for Cobra Starship and on Saturday, August 7th Hot Hot Heat opens for Weezer.
Weezer is no surf music, I personally could not stand their song ‘Beverly Hills’, I know it’s an old one, but that’s all I can remember right now, and I have never followed their career. But I think I will go to check out Hot Hot Heat.
Cold War Kids are great live, I have seen them a few years ago as they were quite big on the Silver lake music scene at that time, and Bedouin Soundclash is a Canadian band with a way to combine reggae, ska rhythms and rock, their sound reminds Jimmy Cliff on some songs and the influences frequently cited by the band are The Police, The Clash and Bob Marley. It’s all good except for the Police.
