Californication and Marilyn Manson

The Showtime network series starring David Duchovny is not stranger to rock and roll.  Even its title has caused havoc with The Red Hot Chili Peppers who have sued over its title claiming it was a rip off of their 1999 album of the same name.

This upcoming season gets even more hip with some pretty nifty stars including Marilyn Manson.  According to Vulture magazine, Manson will appear as himself as part of a plotline where main character, novelist Hank Moody (played by David Duchovny) is writing a rock opera.  A rock opera is a perfect outlet for someone as theatrical and Manson so this can potentially work- of course if it evolves into and actual rock opera it will be a hot mess cuz the last thing we need is another Rock of Ages thing going on.  C'mon stop the torture.  A one hour television episode though, thats a good thing.

This will be the kick off for the shows sixth season.   The show is pretty well music inspired considering its history, with a guest appearances from Henry Rollins, RZA and Rick Springfield, and Moody's novels being named after Slayer albums God Hates Us All, South Of Heaven and Seasons In The Abyss.
