Cake "Long Time" Sure Beats Long Winded

Cake has been hanging out with The Gorillaz.  Well, maybe not but their new video for “Long Time” certainly resembles the Gorillaz style.

The production company who has created this animated jaunt,  “Callicore Films” is a pretty forward thinking studio against the ‘dictatorship of media’, whatever that means. Cake chosing to work with a firm with strong convictions shouldn’t surprise anyone.

If you are at all familiar with the band Cake you know that they are not shy about their views, and they have quite a few.  Look we have all heard Cakes rants.  They’re heavy duty politicos and they can be rocking out to ‘the distance’ but they will soapbox your ass till bubbles come out of you.

The Cake message is not jammed down your throat unless you pay to go see them live.  Their music is easy on the ears, carries a delightful bass and even this song right here got me up and moving.

So the message is if you’d like to be on CSPAN with the band go to their show, if you’d prefer a bit of light hearted good time well then just buy their music.  I don’t care about their stance on things I just like a good beat.

The Video is fun, the song is awesome and that’s plenty good enough for me.

If you would prefer to go see them and perhaps learn their mantra bring a notebook there could be a quiz and here is the local dates.
