I've claimed over and over again that I'm not a blues fan and I am not a blues fan. I'm sincerely not that big into it.
But I'm not deaf.
And Buddy Guy is one of the greatest blues guitarists around. A top purveyor of Chicago electric blues, he started his career in Muddy Waters band and steered through the the 1960s influencing, well, everybody. All those Brit blues guys, Clapton, Green -the lot.
He is 75 years old now and playing at the fucked up Westbury Theater which, for no drivers like me, takes a train and a cab to get to. But I swear… opening is Wunderkind (STILL!!!) Johnny Lang and cool as hell family man Robert Randolph.
The concert is Tuesday June 14th -so that's the end for me, but if you live in the vicinity, or can drive, tickets go on sale Friday from Live Nation.
