Well, we we spent day one of Boston Calling in the freezing rain. By far one of the oddest ‘fests’ Ive ever attended. The location smack hear infamous Fanuel Hall was impressive, the open air courtyard odd. The fact that it was so open that if you just sat at the CVS across the street it was audibly the same as being ‘inside’ this festival area. Two stages a football field apart made it a dash and dance event and if you didn’t feel like dashing there was amazingly wonderful screens positioned in a way that you wouldn’t miss a thing.
Very well organized despite the horrible and unseasonable weather and a really friendly vibe, despite Boston Police being some of the rudest ‘protect and serves’ Ive ever met. Here is a tip Mr Public servant, if a grown woman comes to you and says her child is missing and her cell is dead GIVE HER YOUR FUCKING PHONE TO TEXT HER CHILD. I will forever hold that one act against the entire police force. Boston Police work on your ‘service’ skills. Or do I need to bring a back pack full of kitchen appliances to get your attention?
Anyway, despite those idiots the people of Boston Calling are calling you again and despite the relatively great venue and experience I will do whatever it takes to give Boston less money, so I wont be there. I will opt to NY for shows now. Boston Strong? Boston Stupid.
You didn’t have the experience that I did so maybe you’ll attend. Its my job to at least let you know it happening. Really, City Hall Plaza is wonderful and the line up is top notch, I just refuse to support a city that is so incredibly ignorant
