Can we please, please take a moment to appreciate the idiotic title of this song? Flo Rida with the best intentions offers this ditty as a fundraising tribute to the victims of the Boston bombing. ‘Booty on The Floor’…really?
I suppose if you don’t envision people falling on their asses it could be a dance tune- but really couldn’t he pen a better title? ‘Boston Bombing’ similar to London Calling would have been cooler. I am not a big believer in funding terrorism recovery. If my leg gets blown off because of government hatred then my government should pay for it. Just as if someone runs my ass over with a car- they should pay. There should be Federal Terror Insurance or something cuz it sure as hell shouldn’t come out of the victims own pocket.
But victim? The price of democracy and living in the US is the risk of being hated. Deal with it. You’re not safe, to think you are is a scary error. So Flo Rida wants to raise some dough to help people and that’s a very noble yet naive idea. The point though IS THE TITLE OF THE SONG. Does anyone else find it absurd that in a situation where people lost their legs the tribute song is about a booty on the floor?
“‘Put Your Booty On The Floor’ is a paraphrased way to say ‘Call to action’ and ‘get in gear’ which honors the heroes that gave everything on the dime to help the wounded,” notes Marc Mysterio, a multi-platinum performing artist of global repute with previous hits featuring Samantha Fox, Karl Wolf, European X-Factor & Eurovision Star Kati Wolf, Dhany of Benassi Bros, Katy Perry/Rihanna Super-Producer Sandy Vee and a remix cover of ‘One More Time’ by Daft Punk. If you’ve collaborated that much with that many then you’d think he would have thought this whole thing through a bit better.
Really someone with an IQ should have suggested another tune.
