Blue October is one of the best bands on Earth. Still not mega stars but star enough to warrant radio play. I love reading the lyrics I love every version of their songs. I have shouted songs like "Hate Me" and "Razorblade" like I owned them I have burst in to tears surrounded by thousands when I've seen them live. I have stood like a deer in the headlights at their sound check with the official bootleg 'bra cam' recording just a tiny bit. (g'head sue me).
The band just released "Ugly Side" the acoustic gem and now comes word of yet another savory release on the horizon "Any Man In America", due out August 16 (hey now check that date.. its a big important one). Blue Octobers new album brings with it a tour. This tour comes no where near me but it could be near you. My hope is that it does in fact expand but for now its middle and left. Saddens me.
But for those of you who have not been in the presence of Jeremy Furstenfelds ridiculously powerful drumming or Justins passionate singing get off your ass and go. One of the best things about this tour is that guitarist CB Hudson is no longer with the band. On a personal note he was amazingly rude and arrogant when I met the band in Connecticut a few years ago. Really tarnished my vision. He's gone, so you can all come out now.
Catch this tour (please come further East!) grab the new releases (Ugly Side and "Any Man In America" August 16), and grab the first single off of the album, "The Chills," available for digital download on May 31st!
