Black Veil Brides, 'Kiss' Originality Goodbye

Black Veil Brides released a teaser for their upcoming music video, for 'Fallen Angels", a single that will be on their new album "Set The World On Fire".

From this 27 second trailer, I realized something.  Black Veil Brides are definitely just trying to be Kiss.  Obviously inspired by 70's metal and hair metal which isn't a bad thing, unless you bring nothing new to the table, then you're just a cover band.  They're  trying to remain cool theatre kids through the of use stage makeup, yet that's already been done by Kiss 30+ years ago.

The video has a cool idea, with everything burning and the band is there and performing, though it's been done before.  Andy came out of the ground, and the band had a group chant and it was all very clean cut and cliche.

When Andy said the band was going in a bit of a different direction, I was excited.  I was hoping they'd grow out of their dream of being the next Kiss, or trying to be something they're not.  Unfortunately, that wasn't the case.  The kids who have no sense of musical history will love this but only because they never took the time to learn their rock and roll ABC's.

It's going to be interesting to see the music video, and hear the album.  Maybe this one 27 second bit was misleading.  Maybe now they're original.  We'll know the truth when the album drops June 14, now I'm nervous.
