Billy Bragg At City Winery

Billy Bragg is in town to play a coupla nights at City Winery.

I like but don't love City Winery. I've only been once, to see Marshall Crenshaw's 30th Anniversary gig and I found it pricey and sidey. Not awful, kinda good looking. And the wine? I hate wine so I consider it a nuisance if anything.

There is a spacious woody feel about the place and the acoustics are fine. It is an uncool and pricier the Bottom Line.

Plus I don't love where it is located.

There are at least two concerts I am kinda obsessing over right now. They may be sold out for all I know. Martha Wainwright and Marianne faithful. Not on the same bill I'm afraid. I am thinking of it. I was even closer than just thinking about it a coupla days ago but I forgot my password and couldn't buy a tix for either.

I've seen all three of these musicians several times. The last time I saw Martha, she brought her son out with her to Rufus' excellent Carnegie Hall show. December 2010. Faithfull? Performing Brecht sometime in the 1990s. And BB opening for the Pogues at Roseland.

Nice poster, I took it from Brooklynvegan, who also note that Bragg is at a busker singalong at Damrosch Park Bandshell
