Beyoncé is a queen, this has clearly been established in the mind of many people, and she is venerated like a royalty. I guess many of her fans would die to get anything she has touched, owned… Look, if Mac DeMarco can sell his old shoes on eBay for $20,000 – yes this is how much some people are willing to pay for them right now and there are still 4 days to go! – I wonder how much money Beyoncé could make with the same type of items,… millions? Billions? Let’s get real people, you could have had a piece of the queen B was pennies, if you were in Houston last week…
According to Click 2 Houston (via the A.V. Club), Beyoncé’s father, Mathew Knowles, was selling Beyoncé’s old belongings at a garage sale. Apparently there were ‘dozens of boxes T-shirts for $10 — some dating back to Destiny’s Child’s performances at the Houston Rodeo in 2007 – as well as CDs and office furniture’.
People were even wondering whether the guy was desperately in need of money, and ‘Somehow that became we are going out of business, homeless and selling all of Beyoncé’s stuff to stay alive, which as you can see it’s just the opposite’, he said to the journalist. ‘If I needed money, I wouldn’t sell $5 T-shirts,… I’d sell a Grammy or an MTV award. So that is insulting to think we need to sell $5 T-shirts. No, I don’t think so.’
Or he could have sold these same t-shirts for much much more? Sure, it is less than certain than Beyoncé touched any of these shirts, but old Destiny’s Child shirts? Coming right from Beyoncé’s childhood home? It wasn’t very hard to make fans believe she had worn a bunch of them, and it could have been a fun experiment on eBay.
