Beyonce Sings The National Anthem Again, No Lip Syncing Involved This Time, But Who Cares?

No Beyonce, you can’t have a make-up test, that’s too easy! But I know that this new performance will satisfy almost everyone, and I know that your fans are gonna say, 'you see, we told you she sang live!'… I just don’t like your superior and mockery tone at the end of the performance, ‘Any question?’,… who do you think you are?

The truth is that she didn’t sing at the President inauguration and after a long silence from her camp following the scandalous revelation, she obviously wanted to prove something. At a Super Bowl press conference on Thursday afternoon, Beyonce started her performance by singing the national anthem, a cappella, totally live this time. She explained her choice to use a backing track two weeks ago by saying she was ‘a perfectionist’, who hadn’t had time to have a sound check…. How is this even possible? The most important event of the year in Washington and no sound check? Did she have a soundcheck this time?

Anyway, this is what she said: ‘I practice until my feet bleed and I did not have time to rehearse with the orchestra. Due to no proper sound check, I did not feel comfortable taking a risk. It was about the president and the inauguration, and I wanted to make him and my country proud, so I decided to sing along with my pre-recorded track, which is very common in the music industry. And I'm very proud of my performance.’

And I have no doubt about this,… Bey is proud of everything she does! But does she realize that she is totally wrong on this? People prefer a million times an imperfect but real performance to a flawless recording? It is so obvious, art is not about perfection, and because she didn’t want to put her miss-perfection-image at risk, she embarrassed the president and his entourage!

She added she will be ready for her Super Bowl performance on Sunday: ‘I will absolutely be singing live, I am well-rehearsed. This is what I was born to do.’ The confidence of this woman has no limits,… actually no! if she was confident in her art she would have taken a risk!

And this new performance? The usual bawling she is capable of, a everybody-admire-my-powerful-vocal-chords tour de force, a show-off of a performance that brings this to my mind beside a little of vomit in my mouth: What did she want to proof? Nobody said she couldn’t sing the national anthem, she was criticized for lip-syncing at the presidential inauguration. Big difference! Bey missed the point again.
