I have heard about Azealia Banks so many times, she has already received many praises from the LA Times especially for her show at the Henry Fonda theater, but she hasn’t released an album yet! The hype is real and now the Times is reporting that she has turned down an offer that a lot of beginners would only dream of:
‘I got invited to tour with Nicki Minaj in Europe but I can't go because I have to finish my album during that time‘, she tweeted on Monday.
Nicki Minaj is currently touring the States before doing a few more dates in Europe in August, and the LA Times is pointing out that this could have been the ‘girl power moment of the year’, but she refused! Was she in her right mind? Or was she just copying Nicki, who did the same thing to Lady Gaga?
If it's true, I love her confidence, she shows she doesn’t need such a push-up for a career, however, another blog seems to imply that Nicki Minaj and Azealia had some sort of fight on Twitter, as Minaj tweeted the cryptic (only for me apparently) ‘#ManTheseBitchesDelirious’, meaning Azealia has never been asked to tour with her in the first place. There may have been more hating tweets between the two, now deleted of course.
So was it a bold move from Azealia’s part, or simply the result of bad blood? In any case, she will release her debut album ‘Broke With Expensive Taste’ this fall.
