Axl Rose Booed At Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame Sunday Night
The difference between the Sex Pistols refusing to play the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame and Axl rose beng a no show, is that Rotten did it out of contempt for Wenner's glorified mausoleum and Axl not wanting to play in the same sandbox as the other members of the band.
Or if you prefer, one had integrity and the other didn't.
On Sunday, the breadheads who plunk down $25K a table, booed Axl because he didn't want to play for them. Pathetic but not untypical. Billie Joe Aemstrong performed the induction and when he asked who was missing, the boos rained down. So much for the spirit of rock and roll.
The Hall Of Fame is such an abomination, it sucks so bad, it is a wonder why anybody except Bruce and Bono -two egos as big as the whole outdoors, whould even show so Jann in his own little way can plant his name on immortaility.
I don't see why we shouldn't remember the rock and roll greats, but I also don't see why it should be an excuse to make Weiner even richer. Any punk band that allows themselves to be inducted into this sham should hand in their punk rock badge along with their integrity.
How corrupt and vile the hall of Fame: these nasty little folks are loke the corleone's writing out a hit list. It is almost the opposite of everything great about rock: dumbass egotists leaving their foul fingerprints on your imagination.
