So I’m on this temporary time travel trip back to the punk rock days. Started with Buzzcocks live, which lead me to the Vibrators. Remember them? Yeah well they’re actually touring.

They’re actually touring all over Europe and Canada but their site shows that they will be touring the US sometime in September- October. YAY!
What I noticed though is who they’re touring with in Canada. A group called (OK stop here. Group. Remember back in the day you didn’t call them bands you called them groups. This group called The Vibrators..I’m all retro suddenly) The Automatix.
The Automatix are 1977 punk and they are from Montreal.

I can say the lead singer sounds very much like Tim Armstrong from Rancid. That’s a compliment. But in the song ‘Headless Hooker” he says Muntree ahl and well luckily the accent doesn’t show up anywhere else.
My favorite is “City Terror” but their myspace shows that’s only gotten 75 plays WTF? That song is amazing whomever is listening to the other stuff you’re an idiot for not picking up on this one! I want them to tour the US, Hey Automatix come to the US its almost summer so it will be nice.. or stay with the Vibrators and come in the autumn that’s fine.
I’m greatly impressed but the stripped down echo sounds and the cymbal filled drumming. Just like we remember from the day but not a retro band in any sense. Its like back to the future if we were in 77. The Automatix can totally steal and revive the punk scene. They kick ass.
According to their myspace they have only been around since 2007. I swear to God that’s a typo they’re too authentic.
