Flipping through old issues of Alternative Press Magazine, the boy and I found a band that would probably be worth a listen. As The Sky Burns “looked hardcore” so I typed in the URL and checked to see if they were any good.
The boy sez:
(About the titles of their songs, I mentioned The Devil Wears Prada) A lot of bands, a lot, use titles that make no sense. It’s pretty much what everyone does. Musically, “My Name Is Gavin, Call Me Scott” is stupendous. “Coke Vs Pepsi Challenge” is a bit original, and the instruments are phenominal. They’re a great group.
Mary sez:
The quartet from Indiana is just absolutely full of talent. “King Me” is an absolute chaotic flurry of insane fun and one of the best hardcore songs I’ve heard in a while. These boys are most definitely incredibly gifted. “Detroit Rick” really shows off the drummer’s absolute expertise, because sometimes the drummer’s forgotten or put aside compared to the other members. They’re a very impressive group, and I’m most certainly glad we found them.
