Scooping the world would be a lot more fun if somebody noticed!
I was speaking to a friend of mine with connections to the Yankes on January 7th of this year, when he let slip that Roger Waters was playing Yankee Stadium, July 7th, 2012. Nobody knew this and when I went on the Yankees website it just said TBA. But my friend is pretty high up and I decided to go with it. I wrote up the story on January 9th, though I actually was off by a day. I wrote July 7th was the date Waters was bringing the wall to the house George (or is that Jeter?) built, it is, in fact, July 6th. A Friday.
Tickets go on sale January 30th, though I bet they'll be any number of presales before then…
At this point I am getting sick of breaking stories, have the world discover them weeks later, and never get any credit. Right this second I have two huge stories in the works, and if these get taken without recognition I am gonna blame some people in this room. And then I don't forgive.
