Pete and Arlo haven't performed their annual Thanksgiving gig at Carnegie Hall since 2008 and many of us feared we would forever lose that great tradition. I mean, really Seeger is 94 YEARS OLD, hoinestly. What are the chances??
The chances are excellent to hear Arlo tell it. At Sunday's Summerstage gig, Arlo mentioned that he had spoken to Pete recently (they went to Occupy Wall Street last year) about performing again at the annual gig. On a personal level, I watched it twice and loved it both times! But still, as Pete replied, "I need two canes to walk and I can hardly hear".
To which Arlo retorted retorted, "Have you looked at our audience? They can hardly hear either!"
And apparently that should do it. The duo and their respective families should be playing the Friday and Saturday after Thanksgiving and it should be one of the most eagerly anticipated gigs of the year!!! You can be damn sure that I'll be there…
