Arctic Monkey's are opening for Black Keys in March and since I am going to the gig., I figured I'd give Suck It And See another listen.
What happened to these guys?
I knew they were in trouble when Alex Turner got off the dance floor early and within a year was sporting shades and a model girlfriend in Los Angeles. I mean, it's his life of course but wasn't that a little fast by anybodies standards?
I kinda blame Josh Hommes because Humbug wasn't Whatever You Say I Am, That's What I'm Not. And it's a fair cop. But what explains the somewhat disappointing avourtie Worst Nightmare. Oh well, at least that one had "Florescent Adolescent". Suck It is inexcusable. "Black Treacle" wasn't hit and that was easily the best song, the rest of it was complete dross like "Brick By Brick".
It is painful to watch a band get it so completely wrong. Why did they think Queens Of The Stone Age could help? What did they have in common with the metal band.
Anyway, they are opening for Black Keys, whose latest album was seen and sucked as well.
