 Arcade Fire’s
new single was supposed to be released on 9/9 at 9pm as announced, but, thanks to the internet’s gods or devils, it has already leaked!

And ‘Reflektor’, as a stretching disco song, is gonna to surprise you! The Canadian band has gone totally dance music, but has managed to keep its very personal and emotional dimension. Despite its super dance-y beats, the James-Murphy-produced song sounds more like Arcade Fire than Daft Punk, as it starts with exotic disco beats and Will and Regine responding to each other in a English-French dialogue,.. how cute!

But the song turns epic, going hot and steamy like a wild jungle, with electronic chaos and an enormous sound sprawling like a monster, fueled by synths, horns, saxos, and what it seems to be David Bowie’s voice? I would swear it’s him just when the song reaches its climax, and Pitchfork seems to agree. It’s a complex and booming track, with layers over layers of disco funky beats that will definitively make anyone dance till exhaustion,

The single ‘Reflektor’ will officially be available on 12″ vinyl at select record stores around the country, this Monday night at 9pm, and will premiere at the same time than a video directed by Anton Corbijn. But meanwhile the song has been taken down, a little late for that of course but now we’ve had a taste we can’t wait till Monday!! And  if that thought  doesn’t excite you for Arcade Fire’s new album, you’re probably deaf or dead. They had taken down the song but we found another  Which has been subsequently taken down as well…. OK, let’s hope this one works!!!

Iman adds:

This is a knockout song, a smasherino of the first order and the LCD Soundsystem of your dreams, it is like Marshall on steriods or AF dropping beats like their mollies and as a man who isn’t such a big fan to start with (certainly not in Alyson’s league) all bets are now officially off. This is the goods from one end tothe other and especially in the middle: it is all electronics vibed out maximum sound anthem. It is a really big song and it should break them into real pop, like Katy Gaga pop.

One of the best songs of the year.
