After ‘Tomboy', ‘You Can Count On Me’, and ‘Last Night At The Jetty’, you can now listen to ‘Surfer’s Hymn’, another track from ‘Tomboy’, Panda Bear’s highly anticipated album set to be released on April 12th.
Panda Bear continues with his beach-y theme, giving us layered ethereal vocals drowning in wave sounds and busy, glittering, fireflies-like percussion. It’s less Brian Wilson-esque than ‘Last Night At The Jetty’, which I still prefer to this other track, but the vocals tend to compete with each other in a peak of repetitive harmonies.
The track is also the final installment from the four 7” single series leading to the record release, and it is already sold out on the Kompakt website.
The album ‘Tomboy’ will also be sold as a special edition (coming with a tee-shirt) on Record Store Day, April 16th.
