Sure I’d heard the buzz about beach House, so I bought a song and fell asleep in the middle of it. Hype, I said. Didn’t even mention it (if memory serves). Than I went onto daytrotter to download the new Princeton session and figured since it’d cost me nothing I’d download the Beach House session and it is blowing me away.
The difference.
These fucking guys at daytrotter are genius’s. They get bands with the ability to sound good to sound good and they get Beach House to sound lo-fi and powerful at the same time. Now I can hear it.
Oh and the Princeton session? A twelve minute “The Wild” and a great cover of Yo La Tengo’s “Sugarcube”. Now if they had sung “Autumn Sweater” I could die a happy man.
