American Idol Texas, Auditions With a Twang -By Mary Magpie

American Idol went to Texas and my lord was it torture.  Everyone thinks that just because they live in Texas they have to sing like they’re country stars.  And could I hate country music any more than I do?  Nope.  Impossible.  I knew that this episode, as soon as I heard the location, was going to be all downhill.
All the girls sounded the same.  The identical Taylor Swift-wannabe, who isn’t talented in the first place, and they think they can get away with that through personality and a little accent in their voice.  Add in a few high notes and they’re golden.  And if the judges say no, all they have to do is cry and beg and they’re passed on to Hollywood.  As for the guys- they think that adding a little magical country “twang” will bring them far.  It did, but trust me- if I was a judge, it’d be “no” after “no” after “no.”  It couldn’t get any more annoying.
Texas was a bad idea- every single person sounded the same, or like another country musician.  Just goes to show you just how original and fantastic that genre is…(only not really).
