Can it possibly be that the infamous 'Aloha From Hawaii' concert was 40 years ago? I'm stunned. The fat Elvis rhinestone jumpsuit show that showed more sweat than a gym on January 2nd.
The concert was broadcast live to 40 countries, including Australia, but in the USA the show was delayed until April 4 so as not to conflict with MGM's Elvis On Tour movie that was in movie theaters at the time. A huge global event that took place on January 14th 1973. Do I remember it? Of course not, I was 6, but I do remember seeing it years after and being completely captivated. Yeah he wasn't the "Jailhouse Rock" fox but it was a fantastic performer who, although not in the best of shape, kicked ass.
This DVD/CD release will be impressive and chock full of the 'extra's that make everything more box worthy. I would hope there would be some backstage antics. Elvis had one of the best senses of humor and when he didn't know the camera was relaxed and calm. If you've not caught that in any other video footage, you should search it out
