Alesana, "Lullaby of The Crucified", Video Review

I love Alesana.

There are a few things I want to declare before I review the latest video from their new album "A Place Where The Sun Is Silent".

Upon my search for a great photo of this amazing band I went to their website.. guess what pretty much all 'members only'.  Ok, what the hell doesnt their management want them to be accessible at all? That's ok I scored this pic of Google and it'll suit this fine.  What also amused me is the ridiculous 'level's of 'membership.  Ranging from $4.99 to $24.99 you get a membership card- access to their site and if you cough up more coin, a tshirt.

To that I respond..
Screw That.

Alesana is a band that isn't filling arenas yet cuz no one really knows who the hell they are.  Bands like Escape the Fate are on the radio and playing in huge tours and Alesana is still not selling out small clubs as headliners of a Motel 6 promo.  It makes me so sad when I know a band is so insanely talented and just handled so very wrong.  My hope is with my relentless promotion I can at least get more than the 200 room Underground venue sold out the next time they come around.  When we last traveled to Worcester to see them about 30% of the crowd split before they even went on- not because the sucked, but because they didn't know who they were.

The latest video is a stereotypical jaunt as death haunts you and offers you forbidden fruit and the band is adorable in white suits and the song……the song is glorious.  Beautiful lyrics, well excecuted and of course the amazing Dennis Lee, who prevents this band from becoming just another hard rock band.

Just take a listen.  Alesana are intelligent story tellers.  Theyre not going to sing songs about getting laid and drunk but they can creatively weave that into their work.  This  album is inspired by Dante's Inferno.

I am inspired by this band- many more would be if they got a bit more attention.  Then maybe they wouldn't need a tier level fan club- their fans would support them in gigs and music purchase.

Till then- no rush on tickets for their shows.. though I pray for the day I see one sold out.
