Active Viewin': Pick Concerts, Week Of June 11th, 2012

The last time I saw the dB's was over 30 years ago and I was not all that thrilled by the experience. But so what? With a new album to push, the reunited best band that never broke big boys have nothing to prove except that they feel good, Friday night at Le Poisson Rouge.

Monday – Ed Sheeran – Bowery Ballroom – The UK phenon sold out the room, and for good reason if his Mercury Lounge gig earlier this year is anything to go by. But not VERY good reason.

Tuesday – Drake – PCN Banks Art Center – Sure, I wanna see the moody mo-fo… but if he ain't playing local, fuck him.

Wednesday –  Jonathan Richman – Nobody called Jonathan an asshole either. At least not in nyc.

Thursday – Mogwai – Webster Hall – Scotland's finest define out finiteness

Saturday – fun. – T5 – Overnight sensations sell out 3,000 GA Hall after Glee break of a life time.

Sunday – Ringo Starr –  As  Steve Crawford recently noted, "the star of Caveman". I might add: not a bad drummer.
