This pill-mosaic portrait of Whitney Houston by Jason Mecier reminds me this portrait of John Lennon made of bullets I saw recently in an Los Angeles gallery… it is well done, woven with the object which killed the star, and you immediately get it!No doubt the colors are right one and I am not shocked at all by the well-too-in-your-eyes meaning, but isn’t it a little too obvious? Too easy?
I mean is there any mystery left? It is like metaphors, when there are too obvious, they don’t really work. Because when the meaning is that plain, all you can do is admire the craftsmanship.
