Alyson mentioned that one of her songs is on the soundtrack of the trailer for Wes Anderson's upcoming movie.As good an excuse as any to listen to some of her Le Pop Francais, a sound whose elegant cabaret, blown out of style before the end of the 1960s, has taken a second life in the 21st century.

I never got to see her on stage but I spent a tidy portion of my childhood watching her album covers. When you got past that she was a truly fine singer, a soupson of dryness to her hardcore though temperately orchestestrated pop songs.
