This story comes from the total bizarro world.
A Portland mom is actually claiming that a Justin Bieber's concert destroyed her hearing! She has filled a lawsuit alleging that she suffered ‘hearing loss, severe tinnitus and hyperacusis’ in both ears after attending a July 2010 performance by the teen idol… This is so incredible at so many levels, but before going further let’s just say she is asking for $9.23 million! Such a weird amount she came up with…
But the most bizarre part of all this is the explanation she is giving. Stacey Alexandra Wilson Betts the mom says it was ‘a heart-shaped gondola’ which served as ‘a sound conductor creating a sound blast’ that went right into her ears and damaged them
What is she talking about?? People sure need to have more and more imagination to come up with such creative lawsuits, but too bad for her no lawyer is involved in the story, since no lawyer seems to be that crazy. This is the exact lawsuit description about the heart-gondola phenomenon:
‘Justin Bieber climbed into a heart-shaped, aluminum/steel gondola and was pulled out over the crowd. Mr. Bieber created a wave-like effect of screaming by pointing into various sections of the arena. Then enticed the crowd into a frenzy of screams by continuously waving his arms in a quick and upward motion, [at which point] I was struck with a sound blast.
The gondola that Justin Bieber was suspended in acted as a sound conductor creating a sound blast that permanently damaged both my ears.’
This has to come straight from a science-fiction-fantasy B movie, and she should rather sue for brain damage than for hearing loss! But I must admit that Bieber in a heart-shaped gondola swinging above your head, has to be a scary and traumatic experience.
