It takes a lot for me to promote something on the West Coast. Im from the school of ‘them vs us’ and when it came to music East Coast was best coast.
But my love and loyalty to the band X make me have to bend that rule as I announce a nifty little tour their doing right in time for the holidays.
First if you have never seen X live its time to do so. Exene Cervanka is a Goddess, John Doe a God and Billy Zoom and DJ Bonebreaker are ass kicking legends. Never a dull moment and never an off note this quad from Cali kicks my ass everytime and I worship the ground they walk on.
“A Family X-Mas.” Is the tour title. Catchy dontcha think? Well when you bring the legendary Blasters along for the ride its an incredible and worthwhile event.
“The Blasters are our brothers, so what better way to spend the holidays then with family? We are going to celebrate loud and proud, hope everyone will join us!” lead singer Exene Cervenka said. I say they should extend it East Coast so I can go-c’mon I havent seen The Blasters in decades!
Oh and while Im going on about X the cool kids at Rhino Records did a X box set ‘The X Collection 1980-1987’ Los Angeles, Under The Big Black Sun and Wild Gift got a digitial makeover and More Fun In The Real World and Ain’t Love Grand are next for the treatment.
Here are the horrible tour dates for ‘that side’
Dec. 5 – Ventura Theatre, Ventura, Calif.
Dec. 6 – The Observatory, Santa Ana, Calif.
Dec. 7 – The Observatory, Santa Ana, Calif.
and then they eek one out for the Cowboys..so unfair
Dec. 31 – Gas Monkey Bar & Grill, Dallas, Texas
