Are the Gallagher brothers still relevant those days? Oasis was big for a while but I have never really followed the hype, and many feuds later between the two brothers, what is left of their (morning) glory?
We know that Liam Gallagher’s band Beady Eye will release a second album produced by TV on the Radio’s Dave Sitek, later this year (may be in June), although not much has been revealed about it,… except a conversation with fans outside a pub in England last February, during which the always humble Gallagher brother declared: ‘It's rock 'n' roll but it's fired out into space. If you're into drugs you'll like it. it's pretty druggy.’ Gallagher has also promised ‘bigger and better things’ on this new one compared to the first release, ‘because album two is gonna be storming’.
And on Friday, a new song has leaked through Santa Monica radio KCRW. ‘Flick of the Finger’, as it is called, has Gallagher’s usual swagger in the vocals and a lot of horns, yeah, what’s the deal with that? The horn-driven tune sounds like a classic big band rock anthem, a little bit like the soundtrack of a big budget epic movie before the real action starts. It’s not bad, but not the greatest thing ever, and it certainly does not feel druggy to me.
