It says here, a DJ set from 11pm to 4am starring Thom Yorke and friends, so I am not sure quite what that means. It could be he will just be spinning electronica and new music from Amok, so expected extended mixes of "Default", lasting for days on end. And expect if you get there by 10pm to be waiting around till 2am for a sight of weasel boy… but still…
I realize I am a majority of one but I've preferred Atoms For Peace to Radiohead (not to mention Red Hot Chili Peppers) since the get go. Since before they were a band, since they were just a Thom Yorke solo project. They are both more robotic and more organic then the other band and they have an internal playfulness essentially non existent when it comes to young Thom.
You know how I have been writing about the difference between serious and pretentious, well this guy is the Poster Child for it. Life is hell, sure, I get it, but cmon, you aren't getting raped by the Taliban. Or walking 70 miles for the only working well in the Sahara. Where's the sense of proportion?
And if that is facetious (God knows it is mean to be), perhaps that's what these boys need more of. I've seen Radiohead a number of times in concert, last time last year at the Prudential Center, and I gotta tell you man, they should get it straight. to paraphrase Ron Weasley, "these guys have got to get their priorities straight…
