Well well well.. look who’s back. Those crazy on Hiatus guys Fall Out Boy are BOOM in your face with a new song, and album on the way and a mile long list of tour dates!
I have seen this band live three times I believe and to see them actually return from hiatus is something I thought would never occur. The band seemed to go south the moment Pete Wentz married and became a dad. Lost was the movie star good looks and the teenage daydream. Joe and Andy went metal (we can call that their dark days) and Patrick found his voice and lost his chub and here we are……the four are reunited and ready to reclaim their spot in the pop world. Just a bit of back ground here and just for fun I can tell you that a very young Mary Magpie called me crying from the street of New York City- near hysterical..why? She had just met Pete Wentz at Sam Ash when he was doing a promo run. The kid lost it completely ala Beatlemania, I thought she’d been mugged. She was 8 years old (which also shows how damn cool she was for a tyke)
They’re about to celebrate the 10th anniversary of their first album, “Take This To Your Grave” and have a new disc “Save Rock and Roll” out on May 6. Touring in May I wonder how many tears will be shed at Boston’s House of Blues as nostalgia reigns and the tiny ones are now full fledged teenagers and those who were teens when FOB hit are now well into college. Fabulous news!
