Drummer Mike Joyce Wants A Smith's Reunion

Who is Mike Joyce?  Hes the drummer with a not to sweet portrayal in Tony Fletchers book 'There Is A Light'.  Fletcher pants Joyce as a second fiddle if not no fiddle with a monkey on his back.  I haven't finished the book yet but if I were Joyce Id be bitching and Fletcher hardcore and not worrying about reunions that will never happen.

The Smiths were always Morrissey/Marr.  Even in the original contracts, but well Andy Rourke and Mike Joyce were the rhythm section so well they do count for something.

Mike Joyce now is appealing to Morrissey to reunite "for the fans".  I'm not really buying this reason but appealing to Morrissey's overwhelming compassionate side (note sarcasm- unless of course its compassion to cows) could work.  No sir, this is the lamest of all the reasoning requests.

He tells Britain's The Sun, "It would sound great. I'm a better player than I was.

“Morrissey's voice is still incredible, Johnny is playing great. With the equipment and PA (public address) systems 30 years on, if we got up on stage and played, it would sound incredible.

"A promoter asked me, 'Why don't you just do it? It would make millions of people happy'. I said, 'You're asking the wrong man.

"I don't think about it every day. But if they asked me, I'd probably say yes. If you put everyone in the same room, it's amazing how things can turn around.”

Does anyone remember Joyce suing the band in the 90's for more share of profit after break up?  I have a funny feeling he may be one of the reasons a reunion would never happen.  Ya sue someone and ask for a reunion- dude be real. Ten bucks if you can tell me which mug in this photo is Joyce.
