Tony Visconti is David Bowies producer and took to Twitter to clarify some news that ran amuck. Word on the street was that Bowie would never perform live again. In light of his recent health issues, his lack of public appearance and just the 'where the fuck did Bowie go?' thought process that was no surprise.
The 'Thin White Duke' was now older tireder and despite surgery not really as strong. I consider myself lucky to have seen Bowie a couple times and at a good point in his mega long career. I was left with some fabulous memories.
Tony stepped in and tweeted the following never said Bowie would never perform live again. Pitchfork made that up. He won't tour for this album – that's all I said,'
Considering at the time of writing this Visconti had only three thousand followers that wasn't a huge news blast. Well, that just shows you how powerful the 'retweet' is. Considering this was only retweeted 270 times- it sure as hell made the rounds. The news is now everywhere and well- I still doubt highly there will ever be a bona fide Bowie Tour. Hes not well, the climate is just wrong.
I can see him doing something like The Stones have done. A handful of gigs spaced and mega hyped- but nothing more. Time will tell.
