Welsh rock group The Lost Prophets blew me away at Warped Tour. Squished on half a stage they took the hum drum room to frenzy in a 20 minute set. I was familiar with their work and their tune "Rooftops" is such an anthem to allot of kids-speaking of kids..
What the heck with this latest buzz that Ian Watkins got busted for some heavy duty sex crimes. The front man is seems to have got himself in a heap of trouble. I am a firm believer in 'innocent til proven' but the band offers this cryptic statement:
The band has issued the following statement in the wake of the news:
"Following charges made today against Ian Watkins, we find ourselves in a state of shock. We are learning about the details of the investigation along with you. It is a difficult time for us and our families, and we want to thank our fans for their support as we seek answers."
Yikes, there is no 'truth will be told' or 'we refuse to believe the false allegation'. In other words, the band is sorta remaining aloof. He is charged with conspiracy to engage in sexual activity with a female under 13 and possession/distribution of indecent images of children
Along with two females aged 20 and 24 Watkins will be held until trial and all views show not so optimistic.
Senior investigating officer Detective Peter Doyle said: "Specially-trained staff are available to speak to anyone with concerns or information regarding this investigation and a dedicated telephone number has been set up.
"I want to encourage anyone who has any concerns or information which they think may be relevant to contact us.
"Safeguarding children involved in such cases is always a high priority and as such measures have already been taken."
They're making him out to be a serial rapist or something. Lock up your daughters. I'm sure there are more details to come… stay tuned.
