Paul McCartney, Animal Rights Crusader

As a vegan, every day is meat free.  The Meat Free Mondays campaign is one that is supported by a number of big wheels (so to speak) including our own form VP Al Gore.  The theory being that 1 day meat free will lessen the burden on our environment thus helping to combat the horrific devastation of world climate changes.

It’s a start and what I find most entertaining is that very few people eat meat seven days a week as it is but refuse to take part in this program.  Seriously? What sort of dumbass can’t go meat free for a day?  Again, I bet there was a day last week you didn’t consume flesh.

Sir Paul McCartney is an older gentry now yet for the first time I am actually really appreciate him as a humanitarian.  He simply does not give up.  An passionate vegetarian who never shuts up and has the stature and protocol to touch some pretty impressive governmental levels.

Take for example The United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.  A big name for a conference on how basically we are screwed globally cuz we have raped and pillaged our resources.  Leave it to The Beatle to throw down some articulate suggestion for the suits

"Although more and more evidence is coming to light showing how the growth of the global meat industry is having alarming environmental consequences, the impact of the livestock sector on global warming does not as yet seem to have been acknowledged by the Conference of the Parties (COP)", writes McCartney. "I therefore call upon you to bring this issue to the attention of the conference and encourage the adoption of policy and individual actions, such as a weekly meat-free day.'

This blurb will not be the end of it.  One thing you can count on with McCartney is that he is diligent in his follow up for the cause. What a fabulous way to use your fame.
