According to Holy Moly, the Gagosian Gallery in New York has announced the arrival of Dylan’s latest exhibition – Revisionism: Thirty New Works, illustrating it with the startling image you see before you (titled: Study for the artwork Baby Talk Magazine: Strengthen Your Baby)."
Startling? Not particularly. Now Dylan's singing on his current tour? That is startling, the title track off his new album? That's startling? But this is just yucky. Not really art as we know and love it, more like a Photoshop extravanganza for a world at war. Or something like that.
Actually, it is called "Study for the artwork Baby Talk Magazine: Strengthen Your Baby" which, I personally believe, is what he should have named his last album. Incidentally, I am listening to "Tempest" as we speak and I am three lines into the first song and I wish I was somewhere else entirely.
Dylan has always been something of an artist, Self Portrait any one? But there is reallys omething very old fashioned about him taking it up so seriously, not unlike the way people who retire get a hobby. And Dylan isn't retired tou say? I think that's debatable.
PS? Holy Moly is a pretty funny website, against a pic of Alt J is the legend "God help us if there is a war".
