Halloween has come and gone, but did you have fun? Did you have a good costume? I always tend to consider that this day is reserved to children and this treat or trick business, but I know I am totally wrong! Halloween is a big deal for almost everyone in the US, and rock stars do not escape to the rule.
Here in Hollywood, there was a big party organized by Maroon 5 at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery, the same place that hosts all these great outdoor concerts – I saw The Flaming Lips, Bright Eyes and Sigur Ros over there!
Of course, I wasn’t invited but a rumor is reporting that Thom Yorke was there, dressed up as Daft Punk! He put on a DJ set wearing the famous helmet with Chris Holmes (from Ashtar Command). Thanks to Instagram and Twitter, the secret was out and the picture below proves it was indeed the Radiohead frontman.
The outfit is smart, an electronic musicians dressed as another one, but people may have thought for a while that these guys were the real thing, the real Daft Punk? Another funny thing (but alas no pictures for this one) Maroon 5’s Mickey Madden was dressed as Skrillex. What’s the matter with all these musicians, do they only know their peers? Earlier this week it was reported that Sum 41’s Deryck Whibley, who used to be married to Avril Lavigne, did dress up as his ex-wife at a Halloween party, whereas his new girlfriend was dressed up as Lavigne’s current beau, Nickelback’s Chad Kroeger. Talk about not thinking out of the box!
Anyway, back to Thom Yorke, isn’t the fact that he hangs out with these Maroon 5 guys the most surprising of all this? In any case, I will try to crash this Hollywood Forever party next year.
