Irish Band The Original Rudeboys Turned Down The Opportunity To Open For Chris Brown In Dublin

I know nothing about this Irish hip hop band, The Original Rudeboys, but I can only admire their latest decision. They have just refused to open for major US star Chris Brown, who is currently touring in Europe, they have turned down the opportunity to play Dublin’s 23,000-capacity O2 arena concert venue!

Band member Sean Walsh declared in a statement:

‘Even though it’s a huge opportunity to play in the O2 with a major hip hop star and a substantial fee was offered, we are completely against Chris Brown’s assault on Rihanna. It goes against everything we are about as a band and supporting Chris would send out the wrong message to our fans.’

Wow, I must say I am totally impressed, integrity and ethics still exist in this money-fame greedy business? These guys are indeed sending a strong message to their fans (and to Brown!) by refusing to open for a woman beater!

At the top of this, their single ‘Blue Eyes’, off their latest album ‘Grand Social’, addresses domestic violence with lyrics like ‘You tell your mates he's great/ but read the clues’, ‘It makes sense to break up and escape/ the way he leaves you in a state/ broken and bruised.’ Take notes Rihanna, take notes!
