At first it was four dates. We let it pass as just a small detour in an otherwise fab tour. Reports are now more dire. The remainder of Morrisseys US tour has been canceled as he tends to his mother back in the UK. Although the details of her illness have not been made public they are serious enough to warrant the postponement of numerous shows.
Goldenvoice's Facebook Page stated the following:
“Morrissey has returned to England where his mother has been hospitalized and is unwell. Due to issues with his mother’s health, Morrissey will need to remain by her side during this difficult period.
“Those who have already purchased tickets for all upcoming dates are highly encouraged to hold on to their tickets and look out for the rescheduled dates. The new dates will be announced shortly.
“Morrissey would like to thank everyone for their understanding and patience as the shows are being prepared for a swift reschedule.”
Both Iman and I were able to catch Morrissey on this tour and were both very pleased with the performance. It was my first time seeing the legend and I am so grateful to have had the opportunity.
Illness in the family is a horrible stress. We wish the Morrissey clan all the best in this difficult time.
