The jazz-soul soundtrack to the movie Trouble Man was mostly instrumental, yet it managed one top ten hit with the title track in the UK.
November 19, Hip-O Direct will issue a new 40th Anniversary Edition of the album that includes the original soundtrack along with 29 previously unreleased tracks including alternate takes, rare vocals and the full score for the film.
Included is a 28-page booklet with photo outtakes, rare photos and detailed text and track-by-track annotations.
Marvin Gaye will be forever remembered as one of R&B's greatest voices. He died tragically at age 44 when his dad took him out with a gun. A sad end to the man who was called the Prince of Soul and The Prince of Motown.
Trouble Man was one of those 'blaxploitation' films that fed us a million 1979 stereo types of African Americans. Funny now in a pathetic way but definitely a part of our American history.
