Well then looks like Jack White's Third Man Studios is building up some hipster business! Nashville will never be the same now that Jack has taken up residency and with his studio, hes bringing in the cool cats.
Each band will stage a show this month at the Third Man Records complex in Nashville. The shows will be recorded and released individually. White’s Third Man building – which features a live venue, a recording studio and a retail store its like Disneyland its so precise. Considering it is the brainchild of White there has to be some genius involved.
Say what you will about his prima donna attitude, short sets or strong opinions there is no denying that this guy has amazing talent and apparently some good business sense as well.
Although by the time you read this The Shins portion will be done (it took place on 10/6), you can still catch the other two, The Kills and Seasick Steve performing on October 10 and October 26, respectively. Ticket information is available at the Third Man website.
I would expect this to be a cross between Daryls House (where Daryl Hall invites over his pals for recorded fun) and Austin City Limits. Regardless, this is a great business move for the former Stripe. Just everyone play nice, you know how he gets.
