Readers of Rock NYC are probably aware I have been shouting out DMX’s new single “Put Em Up” for a coupla weeks. It is a great, pure, hard gangsta rap and it is terrific. My friend Matt Drummond, who is a gangsta fiend, loves it. Matt -who gets this stuff so well he loves Freddie Gibbs sees “Put Em Up” as stormer and I concur.
It is unfortunate DMX can’t control his dug addiction and, believe me, I do sympathize.
With a new album on the way this was the last thing DMX needed.
