Did you read The Melvins’ Trevor Dunn's tour diary, over at Spin magazine? The punk band is currently doing a ‘51 States in 51 Days’ tour, and Dunn is keeping a sort of carnet de voyage, and his last entry contains a direct attack on someone famous, who had a big meltdown recently. In an article entitled ‘Billie Joe Armstrong Is A 'Little Weasel’’, Dunn wrote:
‘But to limit oneself to such colorless surroundings is to go mad and there's nothing worse then some rock 'n' roll brat throwing a tantrum and going AWOL just because he can't keep himself occupied," Dunn says. "Yes, I'm referring to that little weasel in Green Day. That guy's main problem is that he doesn't realize that he is Justin Bieber. He should take some of the green in his wallet, buy himself a green smoothie and relax. What kind of band name is Green Day anyway? Is that in reference to all the chord progressions they continually recycle? But I digress…’
That was harsh! And me who thought everyone was supporting Billie Joe! But sure, compared to bands like the Melvins, Green Day is Bieber, or just a boy band for people whose idea of punk is shopping at Hot Topic in your next mall. Still let the guy alone until he is doing better!
