Justin Vernon Is Walking Away From Bon Iver

Bon Iver no more? It seems that way, as this is what Justin Vernon said in an interview with 89.3 The Current, when he was asked about the band’s upcoming projects:

‘Winding it down. I look at it like a faucet. I have to turn it off and walk away from it because so much of how that music comes together is subconscious or discovering. There’s so much attention on the band, it can be distracting at times. I really feel the need to walk away from it while I still care about it. And then if I come back to it – if at all – I’ll feel better about it and be renewed or something to do that.’

Or may be that’s just a hiatus, if he comes back to it… I can’t say much about the band, I have never seen them live and have never been interested enough to listen to a whole album. I just know he made an album in a cabin in the woods, probably because he likes that Northern Exposure TV show so much, and because it looked so cool at the time,…  and so indie, although I am sure you can buy Bon Iver albums at Walmart.

But may be Justin Vernon will retire and specialize in these Bushmill commercials or tattoo design contests.
