Adele Is Enrolled For The Song Of The Next James Bond Movie

It was confirmed this past week by Showbiz 411… Adele is going to perform the theme song, called ‘Skyfall’. for the next James Bond movie. Does she make sense after Shirley Bassey, Tom Jones, Nancy Sinatra, Paul McCartney, Carly Simon, Rita Coolidge, John Barry, Tina Turner, Sheena Easton, Duran Duran, A-ha, Gladys Knight, Madonna and many others? I guess, she has the pipes, she has proven this over and over, and she is the female pop star of the moment, so why not?

After the mid 90s, the tone of the Bond movies changed: Before they had all the standards, the Gladys Knight, Tom  Jones and Shirley Bassey of the music business, then it was all about a younger crowd, with Sheryl Crow, Garbage, Chris Cornell and even Jack White and Alicia Keys! The cast for the James Bond’s soundtrack became hip, rockier and poppier, just like the cast of the movie, it went from the Roger-Moore-Timothy-Pierce-Brosnan old-school crowd to sexy Daniel Craig.

‘Skyfall’ will be Adele’s first new single since her monstrously successful album ‘21’, which sold at an astronomical number of copies and which, call me crazy, I haven’t listened to… not my fault, it was not on Spotify! The song will be of course Adele’s creation, so expect a lot of screamin’, bitchin’ and hurlin’ that will perfectly go with the usual non-sense action making 99% of a Bond movie.
