26th Annual Bridge School Concert Line Up

Neil Young’s Bridge School fundraiser has become a who’s who of scruffy do- gooders.  Each year the line up becomes more impressive if not somewhat odd.

Guns n’ Roses, Jack White, The Flaming Lips, Sarah McLachlan?  Tell me that’s a predictable line up and you know damn well Pearl Jam will be there cuz when Neil brushes his teeth, Eddie is there to rinse his brush.  What the odd pairing of Sarah and Jack on this one. I suppose when it comes to charity it should be all hands on deck but I sure as hell wouldn’t want my hands near Guns n’Roses.

The Bridge School is an impressive institution.  Their mission is to enable children with severe speech and physical impairment to fully participate in their community.  This is the 26th annual all acoustic concert.  Aside from that group of oddities on stage will be Crazy Horse, Foster The People, Lucinda Williams, Steve Martin, kd lang, and Gary Clark Jr.  The concert will take place October 20 and 21st.

The school uses innovative methods to integrate their students in all sensory experiences.  Their mission statement clearly defines their path

The Bridge School is a non-profit organization whose mission is to ensure that individuals with severe speech and physical impairments achieve full participation in their communities through the use of augmentative & alternative means of communication (AAC) and assistive technology (AT) applications and through the development, implementation and dissemination of innovative life-long educational strategies. The Bridge School is an internationally recognized leader in the education of children who use augmentative and alternative communication and has developed unique programs and trained highly skilled professionals in the use of state of the art assistive technology

Neil Young makes me sick-but this school is beyond amazing for it’s dedication.  Check out their website for details and cut a check if you can’t attend.  http://www.bridgeschool.org/
