I don’t know what’s going on with this band, there were some claims earlier this year that Limp Bizkit was getting back together, then Fred Durst told Metal Injection that the band was done and not touring America – the last tour, due to low ticket sales was cancelled – declaring, ‘We were a moment in time and it’s over’.
Durst justified even more his position by explaining that it was America’s fault and certainly not his:
‘We just don't know what's going on in America. It's all about the new catchy thing and that's always changing. America is driven by record sales. It's the home of corporations. We're just Limp Bizkit, so we don't know how to do anything but Limp Bizkit…’
But now, other news outlets are reporting that guitarist Wes Borland is assuring the band has not broken up, and that these comments, spread all over the internet, were taken out of context and that the band was not ready to quit, posting this on Twitter:
‘LB has not called it quits. That article is insane. Thanks for your concerns, but we're all good over here’.
This Durst guy is an idiot, context or no context, when you declare ‘But here's the deal: say in 2000, there were 35 million people who connected to this band. Twelve years later, lots of those people have moved on. We were a moment in time and it's over’, how do you think people are going to interpret what you say?… It-is-over?
So they are still together? Who knows and especially who cares? Certainly not me, I just got semi-interested because it seems to be a good publicity stunt. Limp Bizkit, a band that lots of people had forgotten about, was trending on Twitter because of this stupid story.
